I did the CPE program with a scholarship which made the program financially possible for me. That’s one thing I love about this school. They go above and beyond to help students succeed. I honestly never would have dreamed my career would take off as it has. I am from Brazil and my English wasn’t so good when I did the course. It was definitely a challenge, but the free online videos were super helpful and the instructors were so supportive. It wasn’t my main goal, but my English is so much improved from this program! I highly recommend this program!

Learning to teach pilates with Classical Pilates Education was the best decision I ever made! With 2 young boys, I knew I needed a flexible career. After school drop off, I am able teach at the studio all day until I leave to pick up my kids. In addition, I find that teaching clients is so rewarding. I help my clients look and feel their best. I wouldn’t trade my career for anything!

Teaching Pilates is a second career for me. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and continue to work full time as an executive nurse at Northwest Medical Center for a HCA. I have always loved nutrition and fitness and when I discovered Pilates, it became a passion. I am so glad I decided to take the leap and take the Classical Pilates Education program. I teach pilates during evenings and weekends as an escape from my day job. Teaching is so fun and also so rewarding especially to work with seniors, those with chronic back pain, and children and teens who need Pilates for posture, flexibility and strength of the mind and body.

Classical Pilates Education is a PMA-registered Teacher Training Program developed by Stefanie Ellis in 2013. Both our Mat and Comprehensive Training programs are designed to inspire new Pilates instructors to carry on the legacy of Joseph Pilates’ original method.
Our qualified and committed Teacher Trainers will teach students the Classical Pilates Method in an organized way through training weekends, online videos, workouts, meetings, exams, and observation.
By following a prescribed Teaching Recipe and by building upon a key set of Teaching Skills, students will become confident and effective Pilates instructors. Our reputation is built upon the excellence of our certified instructors in the network.
Stefanie Ellis is the creator of Classical Pilates Education. She graduated from Emory University in 1997 and Harvard Graduate School of Arts & Sciences in 1999. Her business background led her to work in Tokyo and New York before she decided to change her lifestyle and transition to a career in fitness.
Initially trained by All American Pilates and Power Pilates, Stefanie created Classical Pilates Education in 2013 to continue the legacy of Joseph Pilates original method, but to approach Teacher Training in a modern way. Whereas Teacher Training had been extremely expensive and constrictive in requiring a full time apprenticeship, Stefanie strives to make the program accessible to prospective pilates teachers that have financial and time limitations by offering payment plans, scholarships and online options. Stefanie finds that running Teacher Training programs is rewarding and inspiring as the future of the Pilates method lies in the hands of the teachers.
Stefanie owns Vault Fitness Studios in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. When she’s not teaching, you can find Stefanie in the yoga studio or at the beach. She lives in Delray Beach with her husband, Seth, and three daughters, Morgan, Sydney and Zoe.
Classical Pilates Education differs from other classical schools in that we take a modern approach to education. Not only do we provide financial assistance and flexibility in our schedules, but we also include modern apparatus into our syllabus. Although Joseph Pilates did not include apparatus such as the jump board, the foam roller, or the physio ball into his system, Classical Pilates Education sees the value in educating our students on these apparatus in a manner consistent with the classical method.
